Everest Base Camp Trek Via Gokyo Chola Pass

The Gokyo Chola trekking trails are chosen by many travelers to witness the view of the Gokyo lakes. The lake is located at an altitude of 4,700-5,000m (15400-16400 ft) above sea level which is considered as the world’s highest freshwater lake system comprising six main lakes, of which Thonak is the largest. Gokyo lake is also named Dudh Pokhari, which is the main lake with an area of 42.9 ha (106 acres).

The Gokyo Chola is a more extended trek as compared to standard EBC Trek but has got immense natural view along with the trails. A visit to the Gokyo area typically includes climbing Gokyo Ri. On the other hand, Gokyo is among the most popular destinations leading towards the Sagarmatha base camp and other areas. As the trails are lengthier than the standard EBC trek, it adds benefit to the traveler to explore more sites because of its circular route.
